The Langdale Estate has already scooped plenty of awards for their green credentials and hopefully there's more to come. So far they have won the Natural England Biodiverstity Award, the CBen Silver Excellence Award for Environmental Management and the John Dunning Best Business Award - all in 2007. This year they were shortlisted for the Cumbria Tourism Sustainable Business Award, nominated for a Catey Award for Green Business and have entered the North West Business Environment Awards for Best Environmental Practice - phew! Getting the balance right is a challenge for the team at Langdale - looking to environmental excellence and at the same time using sound business strategy that saves money is the key, for them. With such an array of accreditations, it's no wonder that they have recently been appointed Ambassadors for our very own Tourism and Conservation Partnership - watch this space!
The award-winning 35-acre Langdale Estate set in heart of the English Lake District is a natural woodland haven with streams and tarns, dotted with massive millstones and other carefully preserved reminders of its history as a 19th century Lake District gunpowder works.
