The Most Breathtaking Holiday in the World

by Paul McIndoe

A lot of people stick with the same country and region every single year when they book their annual holiday, and it’s easy to see why. Once you find somewhere you like which has good facilities you don’t want to go anywhere else.

The problem with that idea is that you are missing out on a lot of other experiences which you may like even more! Familiarity is good – but sometimes doing something completely out of the ordinary is even better.

One of the best holidays you could go on in this vein is a safari. Most of us will only have seen wild animals in a zoo but, while that experience is enlightening, seeing them in their natural habitat is unbeatable. Just imagine being on safari and getting closer than you ever thought you would to a lion and her family in the wild. It’s a holiday that no one ever forgets.

Some people are naturally a little worried about being so close to these kinds of animals while on safari, but this kind of holiday is always very well organised. The tours themselves are run by people who have a lot of knowledge about the best times to see these animals up close, and how to stay safe when you do so.

Some people pay for an experienced guide to take them on a walking tour of some of the best areas to visit, but most people are happy (and feel a lot safer) if they are in a jeep of some kind, being driven around their choice of reserve to see the game from a distance. This option also allows you to cover more ground, giving you a better chance of seeing a wider range of animals during your stay.

There are plenty of different locations you can stay in if you are thinking of booking a safari holiday, but a Kenya Safari is one of the most popular. Kenya itself is a versatile holiday destination which offers lots of other options for days out during your visit, as well as going on your safari.

There are lots of places to stay and the country as a whole is very well geared up towards holidaymakers. Many people choose to have a multi-centred holiday; that is, staying at more than one location to properly experience all that Kenya has to offer.

Perhaps one of the most exciting things about going on a safari is that you are never quite sure what you are going to see. You could suddenly find your vehicle gets very close to any one of the thousands of animals which inhabit each area – giving you a superb chance to take a picture (and create a memory) of a lifetime.
