The small state is easy for studying for one arrival almost entirely: to drive on skis on slopes of mountains, to visit museums and to make all necessary purchases. On a map Andorra looks only a point located in Pyrenean mountains. But, as the Spanish
proverb says, Europe begins with Pyrenees, that is just with Andorra. Everything, that is jugo-to the west, Spaniards playfully explain, to the full as Europe cannot be considered because of centuries-old Arabian influence. Andorra, as well as the next Spanish area Catalonia, has avoided this influence.
According to a legend, for heroic opposition to the Arabian invasion emperor Charles Veliky granted to inhabitants of several Pyrenean valleys a right of sovereignty. If to lean against the historical documents of IX century stored in a cathedral sacred Urhel in territory of Spain the earths of Andorra initially belonged to the Urhelsky princedom. Since 1278 this edge in common operated France and a bishop of the Spanish city of Seo-de-Urhel, and only in 1993 Andorra became the sovereign state.
All pleasures - for one week.
The territory of this country makes only 468 square kilometres, therefore for one arrival Andorra can be studied practically completely. Such compactness distinguishes it from all other European centres of winter rest. Weeks will suffice on examining city sights and to walk on picturesque mountains, to visit museums and to make favourable purchases in shops - after all Andorra uses the right of duty-free trade.
