National Lottery: Test Your Fate

Within the last couple of centuries, seeing the growing popularity of playing lotteries, it has been finally legalized and implemented in pretty much in every country in the world. Lottery is not a modern sport but has been sported for a long time back. The history of playing lottery is mentioned in the Bible. Even Caesar himself is known to have boosted lottery games in Rome to help pay for repair work that needed to be done in the city. There are some other important historic events that stand as a witness for lottery being played during that time. For instance Great Wall of China was paid for by the proceeds of lottery games. Several other events like in 1420 people of the French town of L’Ecluse raised money using a public lottery with a purpose to increase the town’s defenses and in the year 1466 officials in Belgium city of Bruges hold a lottery to raise money for the poor and needy.







Thought to be originated from the Italian word ‘lotto’, which simply means “fate” lottery kept gaining momentum every passing year. Today the national lottery is the largest lottery in the United Kingdom since its launch in 1994. Initially regulated by the Office of The National Lottery, national lottery was eventually handed over to the National Lottery Commission - which is a non-departmental public body. Nearly more than half the populations of UK are found to be playing national lottery on a regular basis. And it is very nice to know that around 28% of the lottery revenue is used for good causes across the country.







To play lottery it is important that you have to show age poof certificate and you are eligible only if you are above 18 years. You need to fill a play slip, containing number of boxes termed as “boards,
