There are certain forces of nature that push and tug at each of us as we strive toward enrichment. These forces are derived from natural occurring laws that govern the Universe we live in. Each person is subject to the forces equally as there is no discrimination in the Law. Here are only a few forces which can elevate you to new and rewarding heights – if you allow.
The force of Statistics
Those who are short sighted and can’t see the potential in their situation will rapidly become a statistic. They are the ones who punch the time clock three minutes late each morning, as they shuffle in the front door with a look of doom on their faces. Their lack of enthusiasm dooms them to become has-beens on the roles of accomplishment. The pink slip awaits those who choose not become engaged in their occupation.
The force of recognition
Do something so people will remember you. If it’s your doctor, boss or anyone you want to be remembered by, engage them in respectful, personal language. Greet them with warmth and if the timing is appropriate, them a personal gift. Something special you made, just for them. Every time they see that special gift, they will remember you and when you come into their presence, they will remember who you are. You have developed a closeness, a relationship beyond the traditional boundaries. I make canes, and I make a unique cane especially to give to those who I want to be remembered by. They appreciate the gesture and they remember me the next time I need their services. They open up, to a deeper connection and more meaningful relationship.
The force of Manipulation
Many people go through life manipulating others for their own gain. Manipulation is a deceptive act and as such is destructive in nature. People manipulate each other without realizing it. It’s a form of getting one’s own way. Coming out on top, so to speak. A child sulks, a spouse gives the silent treatment, a boss threatens, all are ways to control a particular situation. Girls manipulate boys because they know they can. Boys manipulate girls for dominance. Husbands manipulate wives because they need to be the leader. Wives manipulate husbands because they need position. Everyone is manipulating someone to sustain their own uniqueness.
The force of The Holy Spirit - This is a subtle force that guides the senses. Call it conscience, or awareness, it’s that tugging that you experience when making a decision. It’s also wisdom, the ability to make sense out of chaos. A person who is well grounded in the Holy Spirit, will have a deeper, intuitive feeling of the world around him/her.
The force of Character – Soul – What lies at the heart of your existence? How are you portraying yourself to others? Are you a joy to be around or do people shun you? Character is the outward expression of an inward life force. The natural thing to do is mirror Godlike qualities in your mannerisms but, we do not live in a natural environment.
The force of Ethics – Righteousness – Ethics The rules or standards which govern the conduct of a person or the members of a profession. But who sets the rules. Usually the society in which you live sets the standards of acceptable behavior. Good ethics prohibits any action which would harm another person or thing. Cheating, Lying, accepting payment for favor, bribes and so on, all are clearly unethical. Good ethics mirrors the actions of righteousness and guides a person toward higher experiences.
The force of Health – Longevity – God created humans to last. Through lifestyle and bad choices, people have given up years of life. Health is about quality of life. When does a person die? When they stop breathing? Not necessarily so. A person can be dead and still be alive. Dead in spirit, dead in functionality, or dead in moral fiber. Health involves the physical self, the mental self and the spiritual self. These elements must be in harmony before a person is really alive. If you are physically disabled, none of the others matter. If you are mentally impaired, then you can’t function properly, and physical won’t matter. If you are dead in moral fiber, than your prospective will be twisted and you won’t comprehend life as it should be.
The force of Social Station – Acceptance Everyone wants to be accepted. It’s the need for social order that drives people to be cooperative. War prisoners discovered when put into solitude they very quickly broke down. Man is a social being that strives for recognition. He/she enjoys a pat on the back from their peers, for their efforts. The I syndrome places man at the center of his/her existence and chokes out the possibilities of truth and freedom.
The force of Development - In everything you do, develop a policies and procedures for the intended action. Know where you are going before you start. Know exactly how you are going to obtain what you need for your project to succeed.
Managing the External Forces
How well you develop as a person, depends on how you handle the forces which are brought upon you. How will you react when you must take appropriate and effective measures against opposing forces? Can you map out the possibilities, both beneficial and detrimental? Ask yourself, what will I be facing if this or that happens? It’s the cause and effect syndrome.
Be sure that you list as many possibilities as possible. Remember, be prepared for the worst but expect the best. Never let the opposition get the upper hand. Everyone is one the same playing field, make sure your plays count. Befriend those who you work with. Make allies of them as you share your ideas and resources. Help your supervisor, to do the best job he/she can. When your supervisor gets promoted, he/she will recommend you for their position.
The conclusion
Natural forces control every moment of our lives. Some are bad and some are very good. It's a matter of singling out which force are best suited for your particular situation. The forces we listed here are but a few that can and if adhered to, will drive you to heights of excellence. Don't discount the importance of the forces of nature. Be reminded, “success is a fickle mistress, if ignored, she will leave you for another”.
