Let's play a little game: Red - Blue - Green - Yellow - Brown - Black
Pick ONE color.
Which color did you pick?
Ok...
Let's play again: Blue
Pick ONE color.
Which color did you pick?
What's that you say - you picked blue!?!?
Here's my point...In life (and certainly in business) if we want someone to take a desired action then we need to be specific in telling them the action that we want them to take.
If I want you to take a left on Main Street, then I need to tell you:
" Hey Tim, Take a left on main street" And I don't need to give you any other options.
Let's take this concept and apply it to our network marketing business. Let's pretend that we are advertising on the internet to get traffic to our company website. The truth of the matter is that our company website will be much more effective (especially at first) if it tells the prospect to do ONE thing and only ONE thing.
As opposed to saying to your prospect:
"Hey Ms. Prospect, click on all of the links and I hope you land on the 'join now' button"
We should instead say:
"Hey Ms Prospect, opt-in or leave the page" or "Hey Mr. Prospect, watch this presentation
or leave my site"”
This concept of ONE option is something that internet marketers have mastered that most network marketers fail to understand. Here's another quick example:
If you are mailing postcards to get leads then make sure that your postcard has only ONE action that someone can take. Make sure the postcard says:
"Call this phone number right now" or "Visit this website right now"
Don't do both.
This is a "funnel" or "hooping" model. There is a certain path that we want our prospects to follow so that they are lead to a certain outcome. Remember this and make sure you lead them down the right path, ONE step at a time!
Any good salesperson will tell you that a confused mind never buys. So be sure that you don't confuse your prospects by giving them lots of choices.
