Sticker Printing: Avoiding the Barriers to Communications and Promotions

by maricar cadavicio

Eliminate the barriers you encounter in sticker printing and change your sticker campaign for the better.

Sticker printing is one of the many print materials available for use in marketing, advertising, signage, label and the like. Simply, print materials such as this are used in multiple ways.

All of these printing materials are designed to do one thing, to communication values or ideas. The communication style may be informative or persuasive or even otherwise. All of these, on one hand, are subject to encountering barriers that hinders you from getting your message across.

What are some of the most common mistakes or mishaps that occur for sticker printing and other medium? Here then are some information to shed some light on the matter.

Eliminating Barriers
Remember that communication is integral and vital to your campaigns, whether they are for your personal, commercial, or business use. Handling your stickers well as a form of media and as a communication tool, you can translate and have your concepts delivered easily to your desired audience.

1. The Process of Encoding
• Encoding involves the manner on which words your use to communicate the message you have in mind. It also involves the use of the right images to build up on the idea you want to communicate.

• Sometimes, this is not as easy as it sounds. Remember those instances wherein you end up saying the wrong things without meaning to? Failure to choose the right words can lead to miscommunication. All together, the message and the meaning you want to impart is lost.

• Another problem that can arise out of this is the use of images and colors. Certain cultural differences and backgrounds and complicate matters on which images are easily identifiable. What colors too are appropriate on certain occasions. It helps to be sensitive and do some research about these things.

2. The Right Channel
• You should always be aware of using the right medium and the right combination of materials to disseminate information.

• Using the right channel whether television or print is crucial. All the more, prints have a great variety so you would have to identify whether the extent of the stickers would be enough to inform your audiences or would stickers in combination with other material is better for a full blown campaign.

• If you don’t have the right medium, then your efforts may and will eventually go to waste. You cannot simply hand out catalogs or newsletters during rush hour when everyone is in a hurry, for simply it won’t be read as much. But flyers are more appropriate for people can read it in one fell sweep.

3. Reduce Distractions
• In communication, there exists barriers that prevents your audience from concentrating on your medium – be it flyers or stickers.

• If your stickers are poorly made, it would hardly motivate anyone to read them or put them up because of its horrid appearance. If the print is unclear or muddy and the text is not readable, then most likely you won’t generate the response and interest you need.

• If you place your posters along with other posters that are just as interesting or loud, then it would prove difficult for your audience to focus on in and just pass by it.

• Another barrier that can be lumped under this category are those typographical errors, grammatical errors and others that occur in your sticker printing and other kinds of printing media.

Make your sticker printing a great promotional or informative medium. Avoid these common errors by evaluating your strategies well and reap the rewards of great communication.
