Does Your Motor Home Have a Home of Its Own?

by Rochelle Steelsen

Your motor home is not just a status symbol or a representation of why you have worked so hard every day; it is that little piece of freedom that allows you to get away from it all whenever you so desire. This is a wonderful way to get off the beaten track and see parts of the American countryside that are often missed by the average tourist. It can be a big stress reliever, just knowing that your motor home is sitting there on your property, ready for you to take off in at a moment's notice.

Being able to store your motor home on your own property is a great advantage. The convenience of always having your RV available to take you on a trip with all the amenities of home is a great comfort. If you protect your RV from inclement weather, dust, and debris, it is much easier to leave on an adventure at the drop of a hat. Will your investment in a motor home garage be worth it in the long run? I'm guessing that after careful consideration, your answer is an unqualified "yes!"

Your motor home can be sheltered from the weather inexpensively with a specially designed vinyl tarp that straps to metal pipes. Unfortunately, this looks rather cheap and probably wouldn't impress your neighbors much either. It is also possible to have a garage custom-built to your specifications so that it coordinates with the style of your home and blends into the neighborhood; you may be surprised at the low cost involved for such a project.

Seek out a company with experience in building sheds and garages in many different styles to find one that can build a shelter to suit your needs. Regardless of the style of your home, a custom-built garage can be built to match. A garage that is custom-built and is of high quality will match its surroundings, look beautiful, and last for a long time.

The livery RV garage is gaining popularity. This style of garage is taller in the center and has shorter wings on either side. The wings can be left open or closed off and used for a different purpose; perhaps you could build a home workshop, an office, or guest quarters in that space. This architectural design fits in with communities that lean toward an equestrian lifestyle.

No matter what design you choose, the most important decision to be made is selecting the right company to build your garage. As you search for a builder, be sure that committed customer service is high on your list of qualifications. You will also want to be sure that the company you choose constructs your garage on site and not in prefabricated sections at a factory. You want to look for a high quality company who will offer you a warranty on your new garage, along with testimonials from previous customers and photographs of their work. They should also have a professional, courteous staff. The hardest part of the entire process will be selecting the right company to build your motor home's new "house." The rest will be a piece of cake!

About the Author
Rochelle Steelsen decided to build a home for her home away from home. She went to Quality Sheds, a Southern California custom garages company, and had them design and build her a custom rv garage for her motor home. The California rv garage they built matched her house perfectly and was surprisingly affordable, considering it was a custom garage in San Diego. For more visit http://www.socalsheds.com
