Model Tank Building Clubs And Their Benefits

by Victor Epand

If you really enjoy building model tanks and feel very passionate about sharing that feeling with others then you may benefit by joining a model tank club. While other clubs may be more prolific and seem easier to find, there are several clubs that cater to those who love to build military vehicles. The benefits to joining a builders club can vary from one to the next. The best way to find out which would suit you best would be to check into several and see which ones have the sort of benefits that you are looking for.

If you are looking to join a club that focuses on the pre-assembled die cast model tanks then you might look into joining a big name "Mint" type club that offers selections based around a certain type of vehicle. These may be based around a certain era such as WWII era vehicles. This type of club is good for those who are on a fixed pricing as to how much they can spend on their collection. Each vehicle will usually be priced the same and then have shipping added to the price. Another bonus to this type of club is the freebies that are sometimes offered in order to get you to join.

There are a few drawbacks to collecting this sort of model tank. For one there is rarely an increase in the overall value of the collection. Also, the collection may require that you buy more than just tanks. It may include all vehicles that were used during that time period. This means that if the next shipment is to be a jeep rather than a tank you may face the prospect of having to accept it anyway.

There are clubs to be found for the builder by the builder. These can be found all around the world and many offer free membership. They may also include benefits such as a newsletter with free tips on making your models look more realistic and want ads for those who need hard to find replacement parts for their tanks. These clubs can also put you in contact with people all over the world. This can be a great way to get introduced to people from other cultures.

Remember, some of these clubs offer free memberships. Others may charge a small monthly or yearly membership fee according to the club charter. Watch for any fine print when you join so that you can avoid getting caught up in a club that you cannot get out of for a period of time.
