A collection based upon dates includes a huge variety of coins that are made within one particular year, which could be the year the collector was born, a wedding anniversary, or perhaps the birth of a child. This particular type of collection could contain a variety of coins, which would leave you constantly adding to your collection with a variety of designs featured upon each coin.
Coins collected by type has different varieties that may include coins within a chosen denomination that contains a coin of each major design. Some individuals collect coins showing presidents or other prominent figures that may interest them. There are collections that collectors have created by collecting antique coins that were individually struck instead of being produced by a machine. With annual coin sets the United States Mint releases sets of uncirculated and proof coins that have been produced each year. These type of sets can be directly purchased from the mint for each current year set, however, previous years will need to be purchased through other collectors or coin dealers. Proof coins display a brilliant type of mirror image that is frosted and the foregrounds are sculpted.
