Rc Planes For The Rookies

by Victor Epand

To really get a thrill from flying an RC plane, you need to see through the eyes of a Rookie. These rookies have the enthusiasm for this sport. They want to learn all the ropes, and sometimes even the hard way. It may have cost them two to five planes, which you never know. If you ever get the chance to meet one of these rookies, do try and find out, how much they enjoy flying RC model planes. They, literally live it, and breathe it. In these times, model planes are made just like their original counterparts. There is no difference. The manufacturing companies stick to precision and it turns out just like the real one. Later, when you have built up enough confidence, then go in for your favorite Cessna, and enjoy your plane flight. Use the encouragement you received from your other Rookie friends.

Different people have different tastes. Some love their helicopters, some their jets, and some their acro planes. Each of them is designed with a reason. They all have their own special abilities. It all depends on your preference and taste, to pick one from a small micro X-EC Diversion (which can fit in your bag), to something bigger like the Fighting Falcon, which is a fighter plane. The speeds at which its engine can travel, is simply astounding. Like these there are many RC planes available. Take your pick, from the electric engines to the gas turbine ones.

If you are a rookie pilot, then go in for an electric plane, which comes in an RTF (Ready To Fly) kit. They come completely assembled. For the first timers, it is fantastic, as there is nothing much, you are required to do. Just open up, charge the battery, then fly away and enjoy the fun. Many manufacturers also give you sturdy models, which will be able to withstand many unwanted landings. This is really good, that you are able to learn all your skills with one model. See the amount of money you can save. At this point of time, do not invest in your favorite bomber or fighter plane. Keep it for later, as the gas turbine models are quite expensive.

Start with a park flyer or glider from which you can gain the confidence required to fly a model plane. It is only later, that you should test a faster plane. If you have certain amount of inborn flying skills, then I'm sure you would succeed in no time. It takes perseverance and a lot of effort on your part. Flying a plane is tough, even if it is a miniature. Invest wisely and ensure that your first plane does not cost a bomb.
