Popular Banish Your Belly Programs; and
My Personal Experience with them
There are so many popular banish your belly programs. Some by well educated authors and powerful organizations. What have I learned from these? Have these worked for me? These are very logical questions.
Does this quote sound familiar? “This is a fast and easy 15 minute workout that needs no equipment. Pop this video in your VCR/DVD player two or three times a week and you will see a dramatic change in just four weeks. It was developed by Prevention Fitness Editors with Fitness Advisor Ph.D. The run time is approximately 20 minutes.”
I am sure you have heard such claims. You’re not alone and there are many such programs from powerful magazines and well known PhD authors. The medical experts suggest that strength training that builds muscle is more effective than cardiovascular exercise to reduce weight. Because more muscle mass burns more calories. I am not saying that it is not true or doesn’t work. But you need to be in good shape to carry out these muscle maker programs. People do develop nice muscles and bodies. But with lot more vigorous exercise than you expect, and almost unworkable for someone in 60s. I tried many including Prevention VCR in late 1990s when I was in fifties. I did not notice a significant difference. And I think that was a good program and good exercises. Even yoga stretches that I do, keep me healthy and flexible but are not as effective as I expect in reducing belly and weight.
What has worked for me may surprise you. This is modification of ancient Eastern technique that I used with sensible eating.
