AgroMicron Adds Environmental Trade Division

by AgroMicron

In an effort to get investors "thinking green" AgroMicron, Ltd has announced the launch of a new division called AgroCarbon. The environmentally conscious company has been developing a series of products that target bio-terror threats and the H5N1 Bird Flu virus. Recognizing the potential impact of new "green markets," the company hopes to educate the public about the benefits of investing in the environment. The Kyoto Protocol, an UN sponsored effort to stop global warming, provides an interesting opportunity for visionary investors to exploit an entirely new market. The requirements of the Protocol bind participants to a program aimed at reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. Failure to fully achieve the target reduction can be offset by the participation in a number of compensatory activities. Among those activities is the afforestation or reforestation of qualified land. Forests absorb greenhouse gases, emitting oxygen. This "sink" activity is considered vital to the survival of the environment and the Earth. Participating States can realize benefits on either side of the equation. For example, the cost to one sector of a State's industry to comply with the Protocol might create too great a burden for that industry in the short term. The offset in Emissions Credit might be less costly. Another State that was able to exceed its reduction requirements could then sell its qualified Emissions Credits to the highest bidder. Many experts see this free market approach as one solution to global warming that can pay serious dividends. The AgroMicron, Ltd Board of Directors anticipates vigorous growth opportunities as the Emission Credits market continues to expand. The Board recognizes the need for a specialized group to handle the particular challenges that will arise in this endeavor. Their answer is the formation of the AgroCarbon division under the AgroMicron, Ltd banner. This new division will afford investment opportunities to individuals and groups that heretofore have been excluded due to the minimum capital requirements. AgroCarbon will also assume the administrative duties for the AgroMicron, Ltd Global Reforestation Initiative. This ongoing project has been a driving force in promoting forest management throughout Asia and South America.
