Oz Free’s Guide to Homemade Strawberry Wine

Strawberry wine is popular because it’s range of taste cater to different people who likes semi sweet, lightly sweet, sour or completely sweet tasting wine. Aside from it’s variety of taste, strawberry wine is also good for your health, it is low in calories and fats but definitely rich in fiber, antioxidants, vitamin C and more. Aside from being a win perse, it is also added on cereals, salads, pastries and other desserts.



Strawberry Wine is known as one of the most exquisite tasting wine but its not a general knowledge that you can actually make one at home. Its not a simple process but some advanced planning will surely help ease the task. Advanced planning is needed if you will serve the strawberry wine for a specific occasion, because wine takes time to age as long as one full year to taste really good.



Below is Oz Free’s Guide To Making Homemade Strawberry



1. Just like in any other procedure, the first step is to gather and prepare all the ingredients and materials needed to make a strawberry wine.

*7 pounds of whole, freshly picked strawberries. You need to wash it before anything else.

*Boil 2 gallons of water

*Lemon Juice, to taste.

*5 pounds of sugar

*Large pot as a container

that have been washed and hulled; and 2 gallons of boiling water; some lemon juice; and 5 pounds of sugar.



2. Mash the strawberries together in a large pot

3. Once your done, pour the boiling water into the pot.

4. Add the lemon juice into the mixture

5. Quickly stir the mixture for 2 minutes.

6. Set the mixture aside and place it in a dark, cool area then cover it with a linen cloth.

7. You will keep this mixture for at least one week, you need to stir it once a day.

8. Make sure that you stir it everyday for a week.

9. After the duration of the week, prepare a large bowl and cover it two layered cheesecloth, pour the mixture and you can notice that the strawberry’s pulp was filtered.

10. Add the sugar on the strawberry mixture then stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

11. Pour this in another container and set aside for another week. You still need to stir it once a day.

12. At the end of the second week, pour the strawberry juice in a gallon sized bottle of glass wine. You need to cover the bottle with a loose cork, then set it aside in your favorite cool dark place for at least 3 months. This span of time is perfect to cool the wine from bubbling. The longer the time it is sealed the better it will taste.
