Family Life In Philadelphia Is Above Average

by Jim Williams

If you are going to have to raise your family in or near a big city, what place could be better than Philadelphia? It is an area that is filled with historical places and gorgeous countryside at every turn. This city is one of the places where freedom was formed in our country and that freedom was all about having the ability to raise a family, live, and work as one wanted to. Those principles still hold true even now.

If you are planning to move into the city of Philadelphia, then it will require a little investigation on your part to discover what areas and neighborhoods will be the most suitable for you whether you have a family in tow or not. If you are a single person, you may very well prefer the hustle and bustle of living downtown. If you have children to consider, there might be places better suited to family living.

The City Line neighborhood is known for strong property values. It is a good suburban like environment and is easy traveling with a car. It has open spaces, golf courses, and access to Fairmount Park. There is also great shopping facilities nearby as well as St Joseph's University.

Another good area with the benefit of good housing is The City Avenue neighborhoods. It has wonderful architectural design that comes from homes built in older styles. If the old world style homes are not exactly your taste, there are newer condominiums and high rise apartment buildings with great views of the park and river. There is great public transportation which is always beneficial when you live in or near town. Train stations will connect you to bus lines that go downtown.

One of the most recognized names in neighborhood living in Philadelphia is Wynnefield. It is located between City Avenue and Fairmount Park. It has a lot of single family homes and a diversified culture. This area does have some commercial development and is also around the university. There could be rezoning going on in this area that might make it even more commercial in the future.

As with moving anywhere, you will always want to investigate your options as thoroughly as possible and as far ahead of time as you can. This will give you a better idea of exactly where you think your family will fit in the best.

Any time you move with children, there are always schools and jobs to be considered. You can find more information on these important issues through many additional websites on the internet about Philadelphia.
