Where Does All The Smoke From Our Industries Go

by Aydan Corkern

Almost anyone could answer that question. It goes into the air we breathe of course. Not only does it pollute the air we must breathe, it also becomes trapped in our atmosphere and helps to hold excessive heat that surrounds the planet. This very controversial topic is at the center of debates all over the world as to exactly how big an impact the industrial revolution is having to the climate changes of our world. Some people believe that it is playing a huge part and others do not think it is having much bearing. These people believe that the climate changes we are experiencing are only a natural occurrence that takes place over and over again throughout time.

How are we as average people supposed to make our own analysis of this grave situation? We are all aware now that the polar ice caps are indeed melting at an alarming rate. We have also heard by now how when the polar caps are gone it will cause the oceans of the world to rise and not only jeopardize, but will likely submerge many of our coastline cities around the world. It is believed that many islands will simply disappear under water. This will have an enormous impact on the world.

What will happen to all of the people who will be displaced if islands like Japan and Hawaii and who knows how many more simply slowly disappear? Can we do anything now to stop this terrible process or is it like so many believe and not under our control? What if it is just a natural occurrence that happens from time to time and the pollution we put in the air is not what is causing it? If this is the case should we not be doing something to prepare for it now instead of waiting around just to see what is going to happen?

It is a very scary thing to think that our world is going to change and that there may be absolutely nothing we can do, but what if the ones who believe that this is a natural occurrence are wrong? What if the climate change is being created because of all of our industries and vehicles all over the world? Since there is room to make space for this scenario being true as well, should we not also be doing all that we can to reduce this pollution and see if it begins to make a difference?

There are millions of people who are fervently working to do this very thing. Some governments are trying harder than others to reduce the amount of emissions that are put into the air. It should be the responsibility of all people throughout the world to do whatever we can to protect our planet for future generations and one way to do this is by stopping being wasteful.
