Getting a job as a receptionist makes perfect sense

by jason edworthy

Looking glamorous and having a great smile is what many people would consider as the main skills required to work as a receptionist or front of house but these skills are not the main ones potential employers are looking for as organisational skills, PC literacy, health and safety and even mutli-linguistic skills are required for some positions. One of the main criteria has to be communication and tone you engage with people both face to face and on the telephone. For many businesses having appropriate sounding reception staff is key as this is first voice customers will hear when they ring the company.
As employers look for improved skills, employees need to deliver those skills otherwise the two objections are not matched and ever changing receptionists are no good for any business. This is why specialist recruitment companies have been born to help bridge the gap and be able to offer employers the exact personnel they are looking for.
Forties People in London and Watford are a specialist recruitment consultants who have offer receptionists to companies on a permanent or temporary basis – http://www.fortiespeople.com
Same goes for employees there is no point in looking for a reception job that requires you to start at 7am if you live an hour from the company. Ensuring all criteria is matched for both parties is essential for delivering quality jobs for candidates and ideal candidates to potential employers.
Phones are ringing, a client is waiting to be checked in reception, a courier is anxious to get a signature on a delivery oh yes, the courier is starting to get irritated because he has a deadline and the person on the phone is being angry and abusive...Stressful.
For many getting a job as a receptionist makes sense and for others it will always be a job they never have the right skills to fulfil.
