It you're trying to make money with Google Adsense program, there are several things that you can do in order to help to maximize your profits. If you use one of these at the top of your page that blends in well, you will definitely pull a lot of clicks. What if you don't want to be quite so out there with your advertising? You can use other Adsense ads as well if you use them properly. A good example of this are the link unit ads. You can also blend these into the page and make them look as if they were navigational links leading to various parts of your website. You would be surprised with the number of clicks you can get by using this method as well.
As far as the Adsense program is concerned, it all has to do with the number of clicks that you get. Make sure that you put these ads on all of your pages, especially in the right positions and the profits will follow.
