The Gift of Tasteful Jewelry : Touch Her Emotions

by Jamie Broch Stevens

Gift giving is an integral part of society and culture. We give gifts for holidays, birthdays, partings, returnings, infatuation, and any number of other significant occasions.
Women tend to be great gift givers. They zero in on the wants, needs, and emotions of their loved ones. If you're stuck for a gift idea, ask a woman you know and trust.
Men, however, not so much. If you need a gift idea for an upcoming event, chances are you don't want to ask Larry your beer drinking buddy for advice.
Your next bright idea may be to forego any advice and just stick to your gut instinct. If this is you, I have just become your savior.
Men historically need to be pointed in the right direction for gifts. This is not a slight against men; being one myself I have a great idea of where men's ideas come from. We all mean well, and don't want to disappoint. I, however, have taken great steps to improve my gift buying ideas. Here, I will let you in on the knowledge gained from my research and taking the advice of women.
Lesson one : Listen.
If there is one thing men excel at, it is tuning other's out to focus on whatever task they have at hand. This is not necessarily bad, but it is the main reason we're terrible gift givers. When we go to the store to go shopping, we tend to draw blanks. We walk around with a kind of lost look on our faces, trying to remember what the wife, mother, daughter, girlfriend, wants or would like for the upcomming event. I've watched my girlfriend walk into a shopping center and absolutely come alive with gift buying ideas. I usually just start to wonder how long it's going to take, and what I'm going to do when I get home. You may laugh, but many men are like this.
Lesson two : When in doubt, let jewelry help you out.
This is a bit of knowledge that many men don't know: a woman wants to be and look her best at all times. This comes in many different forms. Cosmetics, clothing, accessories, hair products, nail products, and the all important jewelry. It's all a part of how a woman defines herself. What's important to keep in mind when buying jewelry is how the particular woman you're buying for defines herself. Is she sassy, sweet, shy, smart, sophisticated? These are traits that will help you pick the best jewelry for the woman.
If you follow these simple observations, you will have no problems, and will get the perfect gift time after time.
She'll wonder how you ever figured it out.
Let's keep it our little secret.

By the way, if you want an excellent jewelry resource, without even having to step foot in an actual shopping environment, I suggest Jewelry Television™. This powerful web site will practically choose the perfect jewelry for you!
